Terms of Service — Mancs

1. Who We Are

Mancs ("Mancs", "we", "our", "us", or the "Service") is a community-coordination application that helps people report and help lost, stray, or injured animals by connecting reporters with volunteers, transporters, veterinarians, and shelters.

2. Eligibility and Age Requirements

• You must be able to form a legally binding contract to use Mancs. If you use Mancs on behalf of an organization, you confirm you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.
• Mancs is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Within the European Economic Area (EEA), you must be at least 16 years old to create an account and provide consent for the processing of your personal data; elsewhere, you must be at least 13 years old. Minors below these ages may not use the Service.
• Where local law allows use by a minor above these thresholds, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms.

3. Your Account

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
• Notify us immediately at szakika1997@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
• You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account & Data, or as described in our Account & Data Deletion page.

4. What Mancs Does — and What It Does Not

Mancs is a coordination and information tool. It helps the community organize around animal welfare, but it does not itself rescue animals, provide veterinary care, or guarantee any outcome.

5. User Content and License

"User Content" means anything you submit to Mancs, including animal reports, photos, descriptions, locations, profile details, mission messages, and place suggestions.

• You keep your rights. You retain ownership of your User Content.
• License to operate the Service. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt (e.g., resize images), and display your User Content solely to operate, provide, and improve the Service. This license ends when your content is deleted, except where retention is required for legal, safety, or animal-welfare purposes as described in the Privacy Policy.
• Public by design. Animal reports (including their location, photos, and description) and your public display name and avatar are visible to other users on the map. Do not submit content you do not want to be public.
• Your responsibility. You confirm you have the rights to the content you submit and that it does not infringe the rights of, or endanger, any person or animal.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree that you will not:

• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent reports.
• Upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or that infringes another person's rights.
• Post any content that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits minors. Mancs has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation — see our Child Safety Standards.
• Harass, stalk, threaten, or endanger any person, or misuse location data to do so.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems; probe or bypass security; or scrape data without permission.
• Introduce malware, spam, or automated bulk activity, or interfere with the operation of the Service.
• Impersonate any person or organization, or misrepresent a role.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms.

7. Reporting and Moderation

You can report content or behavior that violates these Terms using the in-app "Report" action or by emailing szakika1997@gmail.com. We may review, remove, or restrict content, and suspend or terminate accounts, where we reasonably believe these Terms or applicable law have been breached. Serious violations (such as CSAE) are handled as a top priority and may be reported to the competent authorities.

8. Third-Party Services

Mancs relies on third-party providers (for example, hosting, maps, push notifications, analytics, and advertising) and may link to third-party sites. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party content or services. See the Privacy Policy for the list of providers we use.

9. Advertising and Donations

Mancs may display advertising and may offer optional donations or in-app purchases. Personalized advertising is shown only where you have given the applicable consent (see the Privacy Policy, "Cookies, Tracking, and Consent"). Payments and donations are processed by third-party payment or platform providers subject to their terms.

10. Intellectual Property

The Mancs name, logo, software, and design are owned by the Operator or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the rights expressly granted in these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app for its intended personal, non-commercial purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse-engineer the Service except as permitted by mandatory law.

11. Availability and Changes to the Service

We aim to keep Mancs available and reliable, but the Service is provided on an "as available" basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, and we may introduce beta or experimental features that may change or be withdrawn. We are not liable for any unavailability, data loss, or interruption to the extent permitted by law.

12. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using Mancs and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service, its users, or the public. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5, 10, 13–16) will survive.

13. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of user-submitted reports, or uninterrupted operation. We do not warrant that reports are accurate, complete, or acted upon.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

15. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold the Operator harmless from claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service. This does not apply where the claim results from our own negligence or willful misconduct, or where you act as a consumer and mandatory law provides otherwise.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary and, where applicable, the law of the European Union, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence. Disputes are subject to the competent courts of Hungary, unless mandatory law grants you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves or as the law changes. We will update the "Last Updated" date and, for significant changes, provide notice in the app. Your continued use of Mancs after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Service and may delete your account.
